(Please bear with me as HGCG kicks off – again!)
Welcome to my little labor of love!
So, about this homegrown country gal – my name is Jarah, I’m born and raised Texan, I am the wife of a hardworkin’ man, a mother to two amazin’ly wonderful children (four if you count our mini schnauzers), and a follower of Christ.
Currently I am a student with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition workin’ towards getting my Holistic Health Coach certification. Self-employed, junk-food-junkie-gone-health-nut, strivin’ towards a healthy, natural household. I have a self-imposed health goal of losing 100 pounds – I need to! – but am a chronic procrastinator. <– I will share the tips I’ve learned about that problem too!
About my family
My husband and I met in early 2012 when we were both in difficult transitional seasons of our lives. That December I gave birth to our daughter. We got married January of 2015 and I had our handsome baby boy on my birthday! in August. Through many ups and downs we became a Christ-centered family with a simple family mission statement:
We will be a family of love, honesty, and integrity that prays with gratitude. We will take care of the bodies God gave us and play and work hard to His glory with humility and an attitude of service.
Our lifestyle now is a bit different from most… we live in a fifth wheel travel trailer full-time and travel for my husband’s work (and we are currently too far north for my likin’). This makes bein’ a ‘crunchy’ family difficult at times – small towns don’t tend to have many healthy food options.
However, when we decided to start payin’ attention to what goes in and on our bodies we started to feel amazin’! The feelin’ of healthy makes any inconvenience so very worth it!
Join me as I strive towards a goal of a truly healthy lifestyle (with tons of grace, because we are not perfect!) and maybe I can help you achieve your goals too!
